Did you see the first member Bob Hoey in our Meet the Member series? If not, read it here.
Well, our third member is Laurie Hoey, she is the yin to the yang of Bob Hoey.
Laurie has been on the wild, successful and rewarding adventure of building Water Doctors Water Treatment Company with Bob. While starting Water Doctors, Laurie worked full-time at a large energy company providing stability for their family, through benefits and income. While Bob was out building relationships, Laurie was figuring out the logistics. She negotiated contracts for setting up phone systems, accounting software, licenses, and so forth. Over the years her role has greatly expanded to Human Resources, Payroll, and General Manager as the company has grown.
Laurie dedicates many hours and lots of heart into Water Doctors. She has high standards of success for all the employees and loves seeing them achieve that every day. People greatly respect Laurie for her willingness to listen, encouragement and her ability to know when to love and gently nudge people.
When not at Water Doctors, Laurie loves taking long walks outside. Her average distance is 5 miles, however, if she is spending time at her condo in Palm Springs, she goes over 9 miles! It’s a good thing she logs all those miles walking because she has 5 grandchildren all under 5 that she has to keep up with. She has recently found a love for snowmobiling in winter and cruising around on the water in summer months.
Laurie has a phrase that she says to all the techs as they are leaving for the day: “Make it a good one!” All the techs love saying it to her, and it helps start the day off right.
So, “Make it a good one” and please enjoy reading more about Laurie below!
